I bought my falcon xbox about a month ago and after three weeks of constant gaming i got the e74 error. I tried the towel thing and that worked for about a day or two. I took the box apart, applied some arctic silver i had left over from my last pc build and now i have three blinking red lights and no video output, power brick has an amber light even though rrod is flashing and neither the cpu or gpu are heating up. Can someone tell me what i did wrong? i sold my ps3 games to buy the box and now it seems im stuck with a paper weight and nothing to play unless i get some viable advice. Thanks in advance everyone

never do the "towel trick" it does more harm than good. you quite possibly f*#ked it up.

Check that you havent scratched any of the tracks when you removed the xclamps.

Wait, did you even do the x-clamp fix or did you just re-apply the heat paste?
If you did the heatpaste then you actually did nothing to fix it.
E74 is a problem that lies within the GPU/HANA chip and the only ways to fix it would be thehybrid x-clamp fix or a full reflow.

Why didnt u just sent it into microsoft?

Whey didn't you just send it in? Waiting 2-3 weeks for M$ to send you a refurb is a lot better than f*cking it up yourself!
