Is there a guide/tutorial on a step-by-step walkthrough on how to flash a BIOS?

I've searched through these forums and read a lot of ppl's opinions on which is best, do this/don't do this, etc...

Basically, I have an PAL xbox 1.1, 80 gb HD, xecuter2 lite with switch to toggle between m$dash and xbmp 2.3 dash, oh! and a xctr2 4974 bios.

I'm having some game lock-ups and have read that flashing my bios to 4976.02 (or above) might go a long way to resolving these problems.

I've got both 4976.02 and 4977 bios images, but the big question is...
what do I do next?

Do I need to change jumper settings on the X2 lite?
What program do I use to flash the bios?
Do I copy the BIOS bin file to the xbox hd first? and if so, where do I put it?

As I said, I'm a complete n00b at all this, and I thought that there may be a link/tutorial to explain all this.

Any help would be much appreciated.

P.S
Most games work fine, but the ones that regurarly freeze are:
Starsky & Hutch
Buffy
Indiana Jones
Burnout 2
James Bond: Nightfire

This should help, but if you have any questions, feel free to post them. You can also make custom bioses using xbtool (colored, noani, etc..)
