I have read a lot already about firmware flashing, and have already done my Benq with 1.4 ixtreme

My question may be very simple to reply to, but I don't want to take any chances

To go to 1.51, do I simply follow Textbook's guide again and re-flash?
i.e. take the 1.4 and modify it with the 1.51?

Thanks in advance

I googled jungle flasher tutorial and found one on a diff site im sure there are some on here that are the same. Just follow the tut for flashing benq it covers how to unlock for you (< ix 1.5) and how to flash. I was confused as to wether or not i needed to somehow use my original firmware but you don't. Just read your current hacked firmware it will grab your key and then create the new firmware (1.51) and click write. Then sound the outro via another button press and your finished. The tutorial makes it very easy and I had always used iPrep but was very happy with jungle flasher beta 1.55

I recommend using DosFlash for the BenQ. With JungleFlasher, I kept running into Write-verification errors and it ended up bricking the BenQ drive. With DosFlash I was in and out in the minutes with the only real change in procedure is Geremia's method.

I am used to dosflash and find it easier
What's Geremia's procedure? Can't find anything that relates to the Benq

Isn't it just easy enough to update iprep and do it again the same way you did the 1.41 firmware or am I missing something?

ok
found a tutorial and it ran smooth and simple
You just flash over for Benq and Samsung

Seems a bit daft having to update to 1.51 when 1.6 is out in a couple of weeks, just to play the new games

But when your kids are biting at you to play Riddick .....

Geremia's method is the half-tray step that one has to take to unlock the BenQ/Lite-On drive for flashing. I recall Klutsch writing a tutorial on his own site, but I'm tired to find it. I thought it was x-projects.org, but that turned up empty.

Here's the readme file from Dosflash 1.7 beta. Still valid and I can verify that the steps are workable. Just scroll down a bit for the BenQ part.
