I had the problem were my ps3 kept telling me to restore my hard drive then it would restart my ps3 and it will happen over and over again. Well I took out my hard drive put into another ps3 and restored it there an it worked fine. Then I replaced the hdd into my ps3 and the menu comes up fine but it wont play any disc? Disc isn't even spinning? The disc drive was working fine before all the corruption happend? Please does anyone have any suggestions?

Mine did the same thing, but i formatted my hdd in a laptop.
Then had the ps3 it was going into reformat it.
What mine was doing, was it would say it was corrupt press x to format or something like that.
Then sit there for 10 Min's formatting, dump out and reboot itself.
I did not have a sata laptop to format it with, so i took it to a pc shop on a Saturday and they did it for free."they were bored"..lol
All they did was quick format it.took 3 Min's tops.
When i put it back in the ps3, it said it needed to be formatted. did not say corrupt anymore.
Works fine now, that was 2 years ago.
