I am a ps3 noob, I've just purchased a broken one on eBay. (Can't read any type of media) I've been looking and looking, and I can't find any listings that mention anything about a DVD Key tying the individual drive to it's consoles motherboard. (Like with the bastards at Microsoft) So am I correct in assuming I didn't just screw myself out of a couple hundred dollars? I CAN just replace the laser/drive in the ps3 to repair it? Sorry, but I also couldn't find a noob section for the ps3. smile.gif
