I have an xbox I bought about 6 months ago. I read on loading the firmware and some ways I could possibly be banned. I am thinking getting the connectivity kit so i could easily switch back to the old firmware. am i on the right track? I would just need to download the firmware I want, load it as a video says to, and then only go online when i reload the original firmware?

The only reason i am double checking is because I have not seen a modchip to help me do this online and I have not seen many new guides. Mostly around 05-06

Just flash your drive to the latest IX firmware. Flashing back to stock and going on Live wont lessen your risk of a ban.

As long as you only use proper backups and retail games on Live you should be fine. They cant detect the firmware but they can detect a bad backup.

However saying that, the only 100% safe way is not to mod at all.
