hi i'm having some trouble getting nandpro2.0 to dectect the flash on my xenon
i brought this pci parallel card from hong kong says

Moschip 9865 chipset
* compliant with PCI Local Bus Specification, Revision 2.3
* Add one IEEE 1284 Parallel Port on system
* Easy Plug and Play
* Automatically selects IRQ & I/O address
* Supports Standard Parallel Port (SPP), Enhanced Parallel (EPP) & Enhanced Capability Port (ECP)
* Faster data rates up to 1.5Mbytes/sec
* Windows® 2000, XP/2003 32/64 bit, Vista 32/64 bit

from maplins i brought
3x 330ohm resisors
5x 100ohm resisors
1 diodo

connected it all up then installed pci card and port95nt.exe under xp compatibility
when xbox is on and connected to pc fans stop and center light flashers
when xbox is off and connected to pc it wont switch on
ran nandpro lpt -r16 nand.bin but just got cant detect flash
removed diodo and resisors but same error
what could it be? ive checked all points and made the wires as short as i can i'm thinking about buying another parallel card to try

any ideas?

You dont need to turn the xbox on when you wanna read the nand. Only the power supply needs to be connected. If it keeps failing to detect try other resistors with lower ohm. So change the 5x100ohm resistors to 5x50ohm or something. The 330ohm resistors have nothing to do with reading the nand so no need to change them. Did you install the driver that came with the pci card?

yh driver shows up fine under device manager

i did try removing the 3 resistors just to see if it would even start to read but nothing

well ive tried it with the 5 resistors and without and 3 diffent diodos still nothing
i think instead of paying £30 for another pci card ill just pick up a old 600mhz system with onboard parallel and see if that does it

pci cards wont work, They arnt within the search address of nandpro.

Needs to be a onboard lpt and has to be quite old because anything moden will give you read errors.

thought that might be the problem as it was showing a address of 300 not 378
anyway i took the £30 i was going to use on another pci card and brought a used old system installing winxp now so i post back if it works

worked fine and dumped 4 times without errors

one last thing if i only want to run a dual nand setup for pal and ntsc with a modchip can i let it update dash after i have the cpu key and nand dump

i cant work out how a dual nand setup for diffent regions will work as only one nand will update at a time
so once i update my pal nand to the lastest dash wont that blow fuses and stop the ntsc nand from working as it will then be a lower fw ?

I have the same problem.

So that work with the old system ? because i tried on 3 different pc, with/without resistor/diode, with all ltp mode, with different cable, with different resistor/diode ...

im having same problem. i have the oldest computer in the house so no chance of trying older comp, its from 2001 or 2003 so i think its old enough. has lpt built on it. it wont detect. tried with out and with diode. i dont think its my resistors cuz im using 47 ohms resistors..

This week i receive the necessary for usb flash, so i can tell if i burned something on the 360 motherboard (usb is not a problem when we speak about old/recent thing, ltp is a old technology), if it's not the case, i can say : my 3 computer are too recent (because i tested all the possibity, and all is good with multimeter)

I flashed the olimex with the hex file, and i always get :
Could not detect flash controller ....

When i plug the olimex usb cable a new hardware appear : memory access

I think i have burned something on my 360, or i don't have any luck (olimex appear to work correctly, so the problem is the 360 motherboard)
