For those who don't know, Streets of Rage Remake (sorr) is a freeware remake of the Streets of Rage engine,
it will come with remade stages and will pretty much be a mix of all 3 games, with multiple pathways and unlockable secrets,
like extra characters (like older versions of characters like sor1 blaze and sor2 axel)
and all kinds of extra stuff.

This game is being programmed in the programming language Fenix, (more precise the bennu branch of Fenix).

And since the game is getting very close to its final release i have decided to create a topic for it,
in hopes of getting someone (or more) interested in doing a port of Fenix Bennu.

Since Fenix is an interpretor you will not need any SORR files, a port of Bennu will suffice.
then when the game is released we should be able to just add the SORR files and we can start beating up thugs right away.

Also as icing on the cake, SORR will have an extra option called SORMAKER, which is pretty much a stage editor,
which means people will be able to create their own stages and full games.

which we could then also play on our xbox.

so, I take it a2600 is never going to post his port of v4?

was the port really that inferior? I figured v5 could have easily played on that framework given the lower specs needed.

Nonono, his port of Fenix was great, ran SORR V4 just fine.. but he made me promise never to share it.
Perhaps he thought that V5 would be released right after V4 and he wanted to wait?

I tried contacting him, but.. he seems to have disappeared from the xbox scene.

Shame though.

Anyhoo, I made this post because SORR V5 is build on a newer and different version of Fenix,
so even if we had A600's port it would still never run V5.

Oh btw, if a port of Fenix were to be done that would open up a whole new world of games,
because Fenix was not just made for SORR, but for game making in general.

So not only SORR would run with a fenix port, but also most of all the other homebrew games coded in Fenix.

just saying. IPB Image

I agree, this game is 100% old school remake gold. Is anyone working on a port for SORR V5?

If it helps getting this project off the ground, bomberlink will send all the source files needed if you can contact him art bombergames.net *His email isn't listed and the pms are down due to flame spamming*

There is alot of replayablility to this one, a ingame store to serve to unlocking characters, cheats, and several more nice perks which promotes replaying the game more than once. Music packs will also be included as dlc further down the road providing different variations if you get bored of the current soundtrack *should that happen, I doubt it.*

Some new stages have been added in which you ride a motorbike/jetski through scenic routes such as a bridge, river in the jungle, the ocean all while brawling with baddies mounted on vehicles.

This is the rage to end all rages and it took 6 years to create, this was to be made for xbox but the author of the v4 port disappeared. Please, if you are interested, don't hesitate. this game has a very large user base *google how many sites posted about v4, its ridiculous* and all we need is a port of the bennu branch of the fenix engine.

Lets bring one of the best homebrew games to the best homebrew systems! Thank you for reading this. biggrin.gif
