ok I can't find a straight answer for this on free60.org or here so figures I'd just ask. I've got an exploitable xenon 360 here with these specs:
D:2.0.7371.0
K:2.0.7371.0
BK:2.0.1888.0

I'm going to dump the NAND tomorrow but someone told me in order to do the jtag hack I have to downgrade the kernel to 4*** something or other. is this true and if so how? I've heard of a "timing attack" to do this.

Don't downgrade your kernel, XBRebooter basically performs that for you.
You only needed to downgrade for the old KK exploit.
Here is the release of XBR8955_1 for xenon.

The readme tells you exactly what to do. Don't forget to find a diagram with the JTAG points and put your wires and 330Ohm's in accordingly. Else XBR won't boot.
