I have an xbox that when it loads, it only shows the options, msdashboard, reboot, power off and settings. It will not let me choose msdashboard. I have no knowledge of this kind of stuff. I have searched the internet and found that the evox.ini file is probably corrupt and that I need to download and replace it through an ftp. Can anyone walk me through it, extremely easy? I have seen suggestions on adidng things to the settings but am not able to do that. I think I have things missing on the settings list. I have had this xbox for years, and the person that modified for me is no longer around. I think a chip was put in, but that is as much as I know. When it loads, it shows the XBOX logo and then executer2 under it. Then the Evolution X dashboard comes up with a limited menu. You can hear the xbox running and it sounds as if it is trying to load something but can't. I did have the xbox unplugged for a long time, but when I plugged it up, it worked fine for a few days and then all of a sudden on New Years Eve, after midnight it did this. There is no way to set the clock, I have tried turning it on and off, pulling out cables, different combinations of buttons, but can't get the clock set to come up. Can anyone help?

You can copy and paste that into your Evox.ini file. You really need to read the posts at the top of this section to learn about Evox and learn how to FTP. FlashFXP is a popular FTP program. Fielzilla is a free one that works well.

I really did read the posts, but it is all too confusing. How do I cut and paste into the evox.ini?

You can copy the text I posted. Paste it into notepad. Click save as Evox.ini. FTP into the Xbox and transfer this Evox.ini into your folder containing the Evox.ini on the Xbox and overwrite the one you have. Reboot the Xbox and you will have a new menu.

Thanks for your help. I have printed off instructions on how to FTP. I'm going to try it, hopefully I can do it and let you know how it turns out.
