Haiku is something I'm surprised the xbox community hasn't looked at porting over. Its a system with a small footprint, it has very low requirements and it seems perfect for this setup. I'm just wondering what kind of effort it needs to port it over.
BTW its open source.

haiku is terribly incomplete, at least it was last i knew of it.

with the number of open source operating systems out there, we could say "i cant believe this hasnt been done yet" until we're blue in the face, but if the system is incomplete, or doesn't offer any usability in terms of software available for it, there will be no interest.

linux is still the strongest and most logical step if you want an OS on your xbox. it offers software, usability, and best yet - its already packaged and ready to go. no porting necessary.
