what is the best way to play divx or any format which supports 5.1. without any lag.

btw i copy these movies to dvds i dont stream them. but regardless ill post specs

25mb connection streamed wirelessly. running windows 7 ultimate and windows xp on a spare drive.

The 360 seems to lose sync way less if the audio is encoded CBR instead of VBR. A lame work around is to hit B, B then A while watching the movie if it is out of sync. This stops the video then resumes, and it seems to resume the audio correctly, until it gradually gets out of sync again.

If your converter app will let you pick constant bitrate, give that a try and see if it helps.
