I've got an XBOX motherboard, a 1.1, but just the motherboard, I have a PSU and DVD drive I can use but I don't have the HDD, I saw a way somewhere to do the flash regardless but cannot find it now.

Any ideas?

If you can find that tutorial I would love to see it.

Far as I know you need a hdd to flash the tsop. You have to boot from the tsop to be able to flash it and the stock bios requires the hdd and the dvd drive.

I've managed it, what I had to do was extract the eeprom from the tsop directly, use the HD key and the linux hdm boot cd i locked a hardisk with the key extracted from the motherboard, then booted it as stock with the new HDD and DVD, then I did a tsop flash as usual, job done!
