i'm trying to transfer a mass effect 2 backup and it fails at 6gb (82%) every time, then says there is already a file 4gb in this folder, resume? and it will continue again until it reaches 6gb. i've tried active and passive modes and my firewall is off. any suggestions?

Try installing/copying via the DVD.

I wish, it would make my life easier. but my dvd drive is busted, the reason i went down this JTAG rabbit hole in the first place. I have a 160gb internal (frostythesnowman) hdd formatted by the 360 running xexmenu fine. It seems like the hdd is acting like its formatted in fat32 (4gb limit), but that doesn't make sense. help?

Have you extracted the files or are you transferring the full .iso?

Are you copying the whole iso?
I always extract the content 1st then using FlashFXP and never had any issues with 2 or 3 DVDs games (ME2, FF13...).
Give it a try, it's fast and never failed me till now.
Run S360 Xtract -> Tools -> XDVDFS XTR -> Select to rip from DVD or ISO and let it go.
It takes almost 5 minutes to accomplish.
Fire your FTP client (FlashFXP to me), power on your xbox to get xexmenu/freestyle dash/xexdash running.
Browse to your games directory, and copy the previously extracted game folder.
Let it do the job, again, it takes around 10-15 minutes to end.

So the whole process (including ripping!) takes from 15 to 20 minutes. That's pretty fast biggrin.gif
