I have happened upon a little mini ATX PC which i am planning on re furbishing.

It has a small jack plug power socket on the back labelled '12v 4.5a'

I can only find a power supply unit labelled '12v 5a'

Can i use this slightly higher rated power supply for the PC or will it blow up?

i'm sure it would work. The supply provides 5a, but the computer should only take 4.5a of it.

I should imagine just like the xbox 360, where the older PSU's provided 155w (or around that) and would work with the 135w xbox's. The PSU provides more power, but the xbox doesnt used it.
