This may sound like a dumb question but I've searched for about an hour and been unable to find an answer.

To make a long story short, I brought my US Xbox 360 to Thailand, but even after using a 220V-110V power adapter it fried my power brick...smoke and sparks were coming out of it.

My question is...do I have to buy another 110V AC adapter or can I buy one for an Asian 220V Xbox 360 and use it with my console?

Thx in advance!!!

The power supplies are all 12v output, just the input voltage is different, and you'd be far better off using one that's rated for the region you're in instead of using an adapter.

I used an adapter for about 9 months once without a problem. Its kind of a pain and might be easier to just get a 220 power brick instead.

Thanks for your replies.

So I CAN use a 220v brick with my console w/o issues?

Sorry if I sound redundant, I just don't want to fry my box...they're like $300 here for an Arcade system! blink.gif

Thank you sir! Picked up a 220V adapter that was 203W (Even though I have 150W Jasper chip) and it's workin' like a charm!

Very good. Don't worry that you have 203W one, all xbox are backward compatible and your PSU will run more smoothly with the jasper.
