Does Tightvnc Only Shows U A Console Window?

I tried tighVNC, but even through vncviewer, it only shows a console terminal window, not the kde desktop.
can tighVNC hows the kde desktop of xbox on my pc?

yes, it does. try starting kdm.

K Desktop Manager, it's a login manager for Linux.

type
cd /usr/kde/3.1/bin
kdesktop

this will give you your basic desktop icons you probably dont want any more than this couse it gets real slow and don't do it in web browser as it doesnt refresh to well use the vncviewer

ls k* you can manuly run the apps from command line

ie type
kpoker &

the & will start in seperate terminal

to stop the app type xkill in xterm and then click on the window
