I was on IRC when he said it.

<c4eva> 9504TEST - Hello world Slim!

So I guess that means step one is done. And step 1 is normally the hard part. Maybe he knows a way to get the key or at least dump the firmware,

It is really a very vague message. What does everyone else think it means?

Hello World implies unsigned code, but since it is C4E, my guess is a big step towards cfw, perhaps a dump.

"HELLO WORLD SLIM" would be very nice indeed , but im sure its just dump of 9504 or it would be "HELLO WORLD 9199"

the only thing that statement says for sure is that c4 loves all the bitching and griping everyone is about to do.

considering the only 2 exploits (KK exploit and jtag hack) that allowed us to run unsigned code came from the guys at free60 and not c4e,i would imagine c4eva is referring just to the dvd drive, probably a way to dump the key.
c4eva is responsible for creating ixtreme, the hacked fw,the rest of the team tackle the other milestones such as obtaining the key or stock firmware,or discovering a way to re-write the fw.
team jungle or HyperX are only credited for dvdrom hacks, not linux/unsigned code.that's free60.

I love C4E for the job he's done, and I'm very thankful for Ixtreme, however i find him highly annoying..constantly being vague and announcing way too early, not to mention all the drama surrounding him and his team, he should learn to stfu or deliver proper announcements/info to the community.

there are a lot of people who could give a rats ass about live. besides, do you actually know the fw he is coding is gonna be detectable in the new dash or are you just buying into the tinfoil hat threads?

What i dont get is, IF MS have a way of dumping the firmware through a system update, why didnt they do it from the start? IF they can do it, then why wait till now, why piss about with c/r timing and ss angles when they could just read the firmware.

think positive people....there are alot of people allover the world don't give two shits about live....all they wanna do is just play their backup games with themselves or with their friends....i'm sure when they revealed on youtube how the xbox 360 was running backups using the first ever hacked firmware for the samsung ms25 drive....everyone went nuts off it and wanted to try it out on theirs....and as time goes on when different drives were implemented...everyone demanded that hacked firmwares were made for each and every drive that came out....and i'm alot didn't even care about live up until now...so cut c4e some slack and let him do what he do....make vague but mind boggling announcements and design the most greatest and very powerful "linux based" firmwares for the new slim......God speed C4E... sleep.gif
