"If M$ had agreed to sign Linux then it would have been possible... to prevent the illegal use of pirated software,"

Is it only me that thinks this is total bobins.

If M$ had released a signed bootloader for Linux it wouldnt take long before somebody wrote some code that escaped from the linux kernel and loaded a hacked MS bios into memory.

i agree, or the xbox linux would have an "unknown" wink.gif exploit or something that would make it even easier to load 3rd party software, there is no way M$ is going to trust them

I agree too, and I would like to add that "bobins" is the coolest word ever.

It was blackmail, pure and simple. I keep asking myself why they just didn't do a "traditional" scene release without blabbing to the media and trying to make a big fuss. They made it seem like if MS released a signed linux kernel all xbox hacking would immediately stop. That's, uh.. bobins. It only made them look bad, the scene look bad, and I'm sure MS is not pleased it went down like this.
