So my problem is when i hook up my xbox using the VGA it doesn't work, but when i hook it up with the regular RCA Cable it works. I don't know how to go about with this. please help.

Connect your xbox by vga to a different monitor/tv. If it works, go into the xbox's seettings and change the resolution to 1024x768. And set it to widescreen 16:9 or 4:3 depending on whether your main tv/monitor is widescreen or 4:3 . Then turn xbox off, connect it back to your main TV and see if vga now works. If it doesn't work, connect it back to ur other tv/monitor and try a lower resolution

EDIT: You can also try doing this before doing the above:
