Hi. I was wondering if it was possible to upgrade the RAM chips on a v1.6a Xbox. I heard it was possible for v1.0-v1.5. I wanted to do this to make my emulators run faster. Thanks. smile.gif

No. The process of upgrading the ram in an Xbox involves taking the ram chips off of a junk Xbox motherboard and adding them to the vacant ram spots on a good board, doubling the total ram. The 1.6 Xbox doesn't have these vacant spots for ram.

Additionally, the existing ram chips on a 1.6 Xbox cannot be upgraded to larger ones as the (4) 16MB chips on the Xbox motherboard were of the largest capacity made, to date, with the exact specs required for use in an Xbox.
