you can use the usb spi, to read and write to the xbox nand. What are you trying to program? You need a different cable to program the cpld chip.

Wow, didn't realise that I was 25 pages behind on this thread. Looks like there has been some great progress with custom boards.

Although I'd like to build my own, say 10-20, I'd be more than happy to jump in with someone and purchase more if it was cheaper.

I'm UK based.. If anyone is interested please drop me a PM.

Thanks,
Chris

I dont wanna have a modified or smaller edition! Only the original Kipper2K Board and

switch to 5v standby instead for V+ and report back.

Still same problem sad.gif
I think the prototype coolrunner II is not compatibel with fat consoles. Mayebe has something to do with the layout of the board itsself.

It has been said in this forum that not many people will do this as its a little complicated however it comes as we see the first of the new breed of discs. If freestyle dash is sorted before C4eva realises the new flash then many people who just want run backups will jump on board.

I have a basic homemade usb / spi programmer (Darkstar type) however i can,t seem to get it to work with anything other than nandpro2.0a all newer versions of nandpro do not recognise it Any help here ?

I removed jumper from V1.
But I also tried other Jumper settings.

If I remove jumper and check with multimeter I have 3,2V on pins 26, 35
and about 1,36V on pin 7 an about 1,8V on pin 15
Leds: Bank1 is on, Bank2 off

If I set jumper v1 and v2, I have about 3,2V on pins 7, 26, 35
and about 1,8V on pin 15
Leds: At first bank1 and 2 are on and then after few seconds bank 2 switches off

The latest Phat version (fixed) is working, the only thing that was wrong was pin 5 CPLD and Pin 7 CPLD were tied together when in fact pin 5 does not need to be used at all.The "fixed" version fixed this. If you check out the pictures i posted of the Phat version you will see the correct layout

I have 3 designs that i am putting in for manufacture tomorrow (today is a holiday. Slim, Phat and also a little edge board connector that will sit inside a 25pin DB that will make the LPT CPLD programming cable building process really simple. The edge board connector had to be a 2 sided board, There are a couple of nice little options added to each glitch board that most people will like (there\ll always be a few that won't lol).

If someone wants a lot of unpopulated/built boards let me know now before i put in my order so i can have a sense of how many to order. Will take approx 7 days to get them

this looks like it should work but no guarantee that it will as i cant see what is on the other side of the board

The Slim works fine with that as far as I heard,
but,

The Fat Jasper (16mb) doesnt works, no matter what I do.
The Coolrunner shows me three LEDs (Power, Bank1, Bank2) when I plugin the power for 360. But If Iam tryin to boot the box, the LED for Bank1 goes off.
Is that ok so far? Or does the bank1 Led has to show up all time?
I am from germany, so I'am sorry for my english.

Try this one instead (I think it should be correct also considering back side of the board - it's publicly available, by the way)
