For those guys that used Gligli's JTAG cable schematic to build their own. I am pretty sure someone on XBH found an error on one of the connections. Just mentioning in case the schematic they are using hasn't been updated and their wiring is based on incorrect schematic.

i dont think it is completly faulty, i verified my cable with a xc9572xl before my boards arrived and it worked like a charm. did not work on my xc2c64a so i made another cable without all resistors and diodes and that one worked for my boards.

@playonlcd
Thanks for the cleaned up component layouts.

@Gmim
Do you need the measurements taken while it's on the programmer or in the console?

@kipperk2
Nice! Wish I could produce that quality at home.

then i think my lpt port in blown, did you have the software running? or just pluged in?

im gonna do some tests on the lpt port without the wiring.

edit:
without anything running tdi, tck and tms are 0.11v
when i run impact tdi jumps to 5.03 but tck and tms stay 0.11.

so either the port is blown or im having io access issues.

I have tried a few times making them at home, with the newer high density components its getting a little harder so i just wait till i have a few designs ready to panelise and get them made for me, I don't get them made to make a profit as such, it just enables me to get them cheap and help others too. Only thing i hate is the waiting part, sooo impatient lol

Hopefully tomorrow i can get some building and testing done. Once i can prove they work ok then i will let them go for sale. I think Looouky has already proved the V3 design so its just mine.

i have yet to find some software for win 7 that opens up port io's.

i did find a few different diagrams that use tms, tck, tdi and tdo on different pins, so i will test the voltages of these pins vs the voltages you provided.

http://img255.images...blackcatou7.png
http://www.sat-unive...fd01ed9621c.bmp

edit:
im not getting any better results from testing the pins in the diagrams above.

ive tried switching the mode and doing testing; voltages only change when impact is running (otherwise they are all 0.11)
ssp gives 5v on tms
ecp gives 5v on tdi
normal gives 0v on tms, tck and tdi.
esp (iirc) + ecp gives 5v on tms

so this has to be software, im gonna ditch win 7 32 and install xp 32.

Just a quick question in regards to the glitch hack, I understand its not 100% to do the glitch (seen some videos while it gets the timings right), But once it boots glitched (into xell) , is that it? you have access fully, and we just wait for our lovely devs to write custom nands etc? Or is it a bit more complicated than that? Just wondering if i should bother purchasing a slim xbox . i have a jtag jasper but id rather replace it with a slim (I dont use all functions of the jtag like xlink etc, all i like is DLC and Games played from the hdd)

we did face similar problems while trying to build lpt cables to program the nand back in the days when usb flashers were nonexistence. some people ended up removing all the resistors and diodes so that nandpro recognizes the nand and gives the correct flashconfig...

Yup,

Once it boots into Xell it will boot CFW. If you have the cash buy the slim now in case new boards have pads removed, encased etc

I do have like 4 JTAG all jaspers, and they all have bad blocks - I bought them new just to JTAG them back in 2009-. Even my WIIs nand got some bad blocks.... so it seems bad blocks are always expected...

im done for the day, hopefully the buffered jtag cable will be here tomorrow, if not i will do some more testing to see if i can get it working.

v3 worked fine and so did v1, v2 could have worked fine it was just a little buggered and you need to cut a trace.
