1. Yes, just use LT+ v2.01

2. ixtreme 1.6 is outdated. Use LT+ v2.01 or wait for LT+ 3.0

3. Yes - Verbatim makes the best ones.

4. No, that may be against site rules. Just google it.

Isn't it just 2.0 for Hitachis? If we knew what model of Hitachi you ordered (If its an old one like the one you have in your box then it won't have the protection system)
But just wait for 3.0
Personally I would go with an x360key or wasabi ... no need to buy DVDs anymore and all you need from your drive is your key ... But every one can do what they want with their boxes smile.gif

i ordered the exact same one as before because i assumed its the only one it takes (its the TS-H943). i was hoping to use a hard drive for the games instead of the discs because they are expensive . i dont have a xbox 360 harddrive but is it ok to use an external one? :/

Right now the only way to play from an external hdd is to have your xbox JTAG, RGH or get yourself x360key or Wasabi system. MS put a function to use USB as external drives but you still need the dvd to launch the games and they are limited in space (16 gb if i remember right) so pretty much useless for playing backups (well duh because it wasn't created for that)
So right now unless you get an xkey or wasabi or solder chips to your xbox you will have to burn dvds.

Sorry.

Also, you can swap drives from one box to the other (don't need the excat same one but it is usually better to do it that way) as long as the key matches the xbox.

Um, I'm pretty sure you can use any sized external hard drive as long as the 360 is Jtagged or RGH'ed. I use an internal 500GB for my JTAG, so I cannot speak for the externals. BUT, google results support my statement.

That's what I'm saying but I don't think someone who start into flashing wants to mess with RGH or JTAG ... At least that wasn't my idea when i first got into it but I may be wrong about his motivations

Wouldn't wait for Lt 3.0 coz that is for DAE and AP2.5 fix. Since neither Hitachi or Samung drives are Ap 2.5 compliant, there will be NO 3.0 for these drives. 2.01 LT Sammy is all you need to play XGD3 AND if you are on latest dash 14699, a 100% burned disc (you will a IHAS B type burner and LT MAx Burner frimware) - coz to best of my knowledge, dash 14699 dont like truncated discs must be 100% burns. Complicated I know.

Hope this helps.

According to http://c4evaspeaks.com/, there will be an LT+3.0 for Hitachi drives but you are correct about Samsung not needing LT+3.0. I guess you don't have to wait after all, sorry about that.

Ha, my bad. Thought he was asking to install an external hard drive from the beginning.
