Will someone please tell me if I have my facts straight?

Here is what I understand from reading:

Step 1: I can wait until the new year then have a local expert on Craigslist update the firmware on my Lite-on drive in my Xbox to 3.0 for $30. This is cheaper than buying the hardware to update it myself, but it leaves me relying on him/her to do it again if necessary because of future updates.

Step 2: I use XXDVDREADERXX with Xbox Creator 2.9 build 350 or later to rip my Xbox games to .ISO (XGD2 or XGD3).

Step 3: I use abgx360 version 1.06 or later to verify and patch the .ISO’s.

Step 4: I useYYDVDBURNERYY with Xbox Creator 2.9 build 350 or later to burn the games to VERBATIM DVD+R, dual layer, 8.5GB disks.

All the forum posts I have read say you have to have a specific YYDVDBURNERYY --an iHAS 124B, 224B, 324B, 424B, 524B, or 624B. Can this function as XXDVDREADERXX?? Can they be the same iHAS drive, or do I have to purchase a BenQ 0800 or Lite-on 0800 drive to read/create .ISO’s??

Thank you!!

Thank you!!

Thank you!!

You need a 0800 drive.
