xK3y Remote now optional
Posted by XanTium | February 2 19:50 EST | News Category: Xbox360

From xk3y.com:

A recent customer survey has shown that many Xk3y users use either the Web interface or IsoMenu, without connecting the remote.

We have therefore decided to make the Xk3y remote an optional accessory from today, which will be reflected in our updated distributor pricing.

We are also close to finishing a new unique menu system which cannot be blocked...

It's a DVDmenu. MS won't be so stupid to block DVD playback.

check this:

DVDmenu X360key

Very nice... a very slick solution and has the benefit of using preview videos and essentially a full preview page for the game.

Maybe they could add the capability for instructional screens, too...

Just the same way as with the xk3y remote, but you plug the x360key wifi dongle into the black USB plug.

I find the remote is handy for trouble shooting and updating, especially doing a first time install on a console. I find a lot of the time the cheap micro sd cards corrupt on updates and having the remote gives you a visual on the updating process. When I see it freeze while updating I know I have a micro sd card issue. I would recommend anyone installing for the first time to still get a remote.
