My xbox just got the e73 error which is an ethernet hardware problem. Does anyone know exactly how to fix this?

Usually you need to replace the whole ethernet chip with a new one. But in rare cases it can be cold solder on that chip. Check its chip legs before you do anything else.

hey MadMaxGR

Any chance reballing the GPU or the HANA will correct this ?

Not saying that I am an ultimate expert ... if this was mine ... I'd reball the GPU first

if not fixed ... then reball the HANA

e73 could be the SB or GPU

in my experience when the ethernet port does not work its because of the ICS chip but a RROD is usually always a bga chip

Since he gets clear image on screen with the error E73, it must be the ICS chip. This is from my experience. Very very rare cases can be SB or GPU. But in GPU case it wouldn't show anything.

a jtag with E74 can still boot xell as it doesnt initialize or use the EDRAM that fails and causes E74, just because it shows graphics doesnt mean the chip isnt faulty
