Any dash currently. 7 will work in place of XP.

RGH2 is needed on your falcon ONLY if your at dash 14717 or above. My advice is for you is do not update and use a RGH chip. Write protect your CPU Boot fuses (R6T3) and forget about dual boots and live. The older your CB, the more options you have, JTAG being the ideal hack. If you update then you loose all the RGH chip options and need a more expensive RGH2 chip that might not boot as quickly. Keep it simple, get a cheap clone that's already programmed for your motherboard. There's a chip called amazemod 2.0 5in1 that's preprogrammed for all motherboards and you can find it for around $10 shipped to your door. You don't need a fancy USB NAND reader either. You can get by with LPT cable and Nandpro 3.0.
