ok here is my problem ( http://forums.xbox-s...ST&f=38&t=80161 )... i think i'm pretty fucked but instead of buying a new xbox i was just going to go on ebay (or if anyone knows of anywhere else i could get one) to get a new mobo. I originally had a v1.0 mobo, would it be ok if i got a different version mobo? thanks a lot

i screwed up my v 1.0 box trying to put in a x2 lite. i bought a new one on ebay, and it should be here tomorrow. why get a different version? just get another v 1.0 mobo. i think i searched for "xbox 1.0 motherboard". there was one guy who had like 14 in stock that he was selling for $75 a piece, and i got one of those. ill tell you how it works when it gets here (should be tomorrow)

Well, I think it should be ok to change to another version of the mobo, since thatīs the only thing that has changed between different versions. The only problem is that your old original hd wonīt work with the new mobo!

it wont work because the code for unlocking the HD is in the EEPROM of the mobo, therefore you cant use it because the eeprom is giving an incorrect code to unlock the HD.
