If you do not feel safe or do not know anyone that has soldering skills. You may want to consider the Matrix Xodus, Chameleon + Adapter, or the X-ecuter 2.2 Lite Plus. As for the X-ecuter 2.2 Pro and pogo pins, you may not want to spend the extra few bucks if you aren't expierenced and not use the extra features. Check out the link Tribal Kult posted and compare all the modchips.

I was going to buy a solderless chip, but after doing a lot of lurking in these forums I decided that it would be a bad idea as 90% of feedback about them is bad rather than good. I bought a 2.2 Lite and paid an installer to put it in. Cost me only slightly more than the 2.2 lite + would have cost and saved me all the headaches...everything works great, plus if you are a newbie, the installer can answer all you questions and maybe hook you up with some programs.

If you don't feel confident in soldering that is the way to go as the installer cost is about the same as the soldering materials + torx drivers anyways and I'd highly recommend taking that road, its worked out great for me.

I'd get the Xodus Matrix chip

It's solder-less and easy to install.

Once it's in there, you won't have to worry about it again.

I have one and I'm VERY happy with it! biggrin.gif

I would rather get a x2 lite+, so you have 2 bios-banks to choose between, and be able to use 512kb biosīs in the future (if they would ever come). But I donīt know the price different, so itīs up to you.

The best solderless modchip is the Chameleon with the pogopins. Cheaper than the Matrix, and has more capabilities.
