OK, i'm in win2k now and when i goto "my computer" its still detecting my CD drive that i unplugged b4 i booted but not the Xbox HD. BUT when i go into Device Manager -> Disk Drives it shows all 3 drives(2 of mine, 1 xbox) the xbox is listed as ST310211A



Why wont it show up in "my computer" ?

windows doesnt support fatx partitions

OK, its in my device manager like i said but now the "driver" program dosnt detect it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, I had the same problem... this is how I got mine to detect it...

1) Plug the HD in when Windows is up and running
2) run Add New Hardware wizard (it won't find anything, but you have to do this for some reason)
3) Run The HDD Driver Program, and All Should be Well In The World happy.gif

you might need too puase the bootup sequence in your computer's bios. hook up the power cable (from the PC) too the xbox HDD and when it is counting the ram push PAUSE BREAK and then plug in the IDE cable too the xbox then.. before the computer boots up.

Thats not the problem, in the POST(where it counts RAM ect...) it shows the xbox HD so its detected there. When im in windows i can see the xbox drive in device manager but it still won't detect it in HDD driver


BTW, every time i reboot my comp WITH the xbox HD attached to i need to re-unlock it ???1
