Hi, first let me say to all on this board and thx to the Mame Team and the persons who did this ports
Since i dont see any compability list on the web for MAME-X or MAMEoX, i decided to start one, mainly to help some people out, to help the developer track some bugs and games not working, or even to encourage other people to do the same and help with this stuff 0_o

I tried only loading the games in question, and play a little, so sorry about possible bugs in the middle of the games etc.
I burned a CD with some games to test, mostly classics and favourites, maybe later i will do more CDs to test further games.

No problems related to the original Mame source will be tracked by me, aka System 16, bugs of sound and others in the original, etc etc

On both Emus, sometimes its a good idea to try to load a game first right after you boot the program, because some games wont boot after loading others first.

Finally, my advice is, of course keeping both emulators, because both ports are excelent and some games play only in a certain build.

Since MAME-X has better sound and speed, when you see that a game works on both Emus, you know where it plays a little better

At this moment MAMEox seems to offer a little better compability and play more stuff without crashing etc. In other words, both emus have their strong and week points hehe

MAMEoX 0.63b
My main concern with it are the "crackling sound", now a little better with version 0.63b and some frame issues in certain games,
but some games, like Bomb Jack, Bubble Bobble 2 and Cadillacs and Dinossaurs, among others, only run in Mameox.

Also, you can set the screen size on Mameox to full screen in games like Dragon Ninja etc, a big plus for some people.
But some roms dont load or take more time just to load and the emu is very intolerant with the games the "no good dump know message"
And Yes, some larger roms fail to load completely in this build

Finally, since its based on Mame 0.67 Core, it supports more games and seems the better one concerning loading many games without have to reboot Xbox

arabian fight, which works in mameox 62, no longer works in this build. Also, for people having trouble with the driving games, instead of only turning left the whole time, you can just remap the controls and it plays fine.

Im not sure if i can ask this but

How do i load the mame-x neogeo emu onto my xbox HD?

I have burned it to cd and tried to run it from that, but the games freeze (well i dont get past the warning screen about using the emu)

Im a newbie to all of this and was wondering if someone could take time out to help me out?

what program do i need to ftp to my xbox?

i have cute FTP pro will this work?

then how do i arrange my folders to put my emu roms in?

Not sure if this helps, but let me do a paste from other thread i did a reply.

"I run it directly from CDr and CDrw like a normal game. As some people like to say, you can find MAME-X ir MAMEox compiled in the usual places.

Then you put roms in the correct folder, next use xsnes9x-iso-builder to make a data iso of everything.

After that Burn with Nero (Choose write, Disk at Once Finalize CD) choose 2X or 4X speed

Concerning installing stuff, i think you have to grab the compiled build i told before, put the roms in there etc and put it in the Apps folder on Xbox, then it will appear on the Evox Dashboard, if you are using that of course.

Wow cool, many thx. Must update the other (MAME-X one) list soon. The mame-X is now sticky, only left this one to stick and the FBAx that i will put up in some minutes, i hope.

Splatterhouse (Namco) does not work ... it just hangs at 100% loaded. The ROM is only a few megs uncompressed.

I also wasn't able to get Splatterhouse to work. Odd.

Enkak - you might want to mention that there are framerate issues with Mortal Kombat II. Also, what kind of sound issues are you having with Smash TV? I've played my friends arcade cab of that, and from what I remember, the emulated sound seemed pretty identical to the actual arcade hardware.

EDIT: Aw hell. I meant to put this in the MAME-X (beta 6) compatibility list thread. I haven't messed around with the most recent Xbox version of MAME yet... I don't know why Smash TV would have issues pop up from last version to this one, but HEY! It could happen.

A few findings...

Outrunners worked in version 61b, though as you said it hangs now

Spiderman and Sonic (Prototype) work (as well as they would in Mame32).

Cruisn USA, Cruisn World and Lethal Enforcers 2 all hang when trying to Load.

Bradley Trainer works.

Vector games are actually control configurable, which is a big improvement over MAME-X. I havn't tried them all yet, but I'll give a compatibility report shortly.
