Put DVD in.

Selected UPDATE BIOS.

One option came up - "Xecuter2-4893". Selected this with the A button.

I get the following error message

"
FLASH BIOS
Manufacturers ID 09 Device ID 00
!! Flash Not Writeable !!


Can anyone help me?? I know NOTHING about all this xbox modding stuff - and I don't really have time to read all about it. Would be much apprecuated if someone can help an Aussie in distress! haha Cheers!! :-)

Did you connect the bridges on the motherboard to allow flashing? What type of dvd is this, a burned disc or a pressed HK(silver)? How did you access it? Through a savegame exploit?

My xbox has never been opened. It was modded by a guy who (I assume) used one of the exploit tricks. There's a 007 savegame file on my xbox and I've never played the game.

Its a burned DVD that a friend gave me, specifically to update the BIOS (so I can play games like Crimson Skies that don't work at moment).

To access the UPDATE, I go into boXplorer, then press start, select the D drive, press START.

- Then go to a file called default.xbe

- This brings up a screen that has one menu option - UPDATE BIOS -

- I select this with the A button.

- This brings up another single menu option -Xecuter2-4893

- I select this with A button...

....and get the error message mentioned in my first post.

your TSOP is not unlocked, so there for it can't be flashed, i've never used exploits before, i enjoy soldering way to much, but you should search around in the exploits forum to see a way to update your bios..
