well, if you are like me, you spent long hours trying to find just how to do it...
In all seriousness, its actually in the Chameleon users guide tongue.gif

1) you must solder the two points, one on top, one on the bottom of the MB, I will not go into that as the pics are all over th place rolleyes.gif

2) install your chameleon as per instructions, you need to connect a15!!!
a15 is how the chip accesses TSOP

3) flash bank 3 with your evox_tsop_flash...
trust me, flash bank 3...

4) put your chip in mode1 booting to bank 3

you might have wanted to do something before this, and that is, cut and paste the code for the evox.ini file out of the chameleon users guide, and put it into your evox.ini on your xbox

5) at this time, a note, if you a) have successfully flashed bank 3 with evox_TSOP_flash, you will boot into evox, if you do not have a15 connectec correctly, you will boot into the MSdash...that is a little test

6) if you successfully boot into evox, you should see the chameleon software controlls...providing you did the cut and paste suggested above:D

7) select flash bank 0, and choose whatever bios you want !!!remember you must have the proper size bios file!!!

8) remove your chip, and enjoy

9) you might wanna clean up your evox.ini, and remove the chameleon software controll, as you no longer have a chip installed

you dont need to do any cryptic flipping of switches a half second into it, or anything like that...you can TSOP flash a xbox in less than an hour, if you have but the slightest clue

I have flashed 18 xbox's with one chip, 1.0, 1.1, and 1.3 boxes

I hope this helps anyone that needs it

I followed all this exactly, and when I go to flash Bank 0, it still detects the AMD BIOS on the Chameleon chip, not my Hynix TSOP. I have a15 and D0 connected to the Chameleon. The chip is plugged into a pin header on my LPC bus, and I have the two motherboard-tsop-flash-enabling jumpers bridged; I know they work because I was dumb and flashed my tsop incorrectly (using an Enigmah, which is now out...stupid stupid...)

I flashed bank 0 initially with my DVD-RW to overwrite the Cromwell BIOS that came on the chip, and I flashed Bank 3 with the Xecuter BIOS as well, per your guide. I booted to bank 3 in mode 1, and it still sees bank 0 as the Chameleon bios.

So...why is it still seeing my Chameleon as Bank 0? Though, it makes sense that it does...that's how it's supposed to work. Is there some other hardware modification I need to do to direct the flash to the onboard bios?

I tried this on my version 1.1 and it just frags when it tries to boot the evox_matrix_tsop_flash.bin.
I have a15 and d0 hooked up and d0 on a switch. if I flip the switch it boots to the ms dash.
Any idea's?

Okay, I flashed Bank 3 with EvoX_MatriX_TSOP_flash.bin, but when I boot Bank 3, my Eject LED blinks green, amber, red over and over. I switched back to Bank 0, and it boots fine (as expected). What gives?

read the directions again. are you missing something?

heres a hint
) put your chip in mode1 booting to bank 3

in otherwords boot matrixtsop bios while in mode1 goto switch to bank 3 in chameleon settings then when evox loads go to flash bank 0 and it should flash the tsop.

ok, just a little clarification

step 4, you MUST put the chip (via the dips) into mode 1 bank 3 not boot into bank 3 via software...

also if you frag when doing step 5...you prolly have a corrupt evox_tsop_flash flashed to bank 3....get a new copy from the *usual* places

I will assume a15 is connected correctly, if when booting into any other bios, it boots fine, but if you try to boot evoxTSOP, it fraggs...bank 3 is not properly flashed!

also for shits and giggles I flashed evox_d6 to bank 3, instead of evoxTSOPflash, and I dont know if it is because mt TSOP is already flashed, but I was able to *reflash* TSOP booting to bank 3 with D6 flashed to it...

if *everything* is correct as per good BIOS on your chameleon, dips set right and all, a15 connected good....I would look back to your motherboard bridges...

also, a15 on the *older MB's* with the solderless connector....just a point here...the corner of the solderless connector, that D0 comes off of, well, the tip of the corner is perfectly over a15...if you just fill the a15 hole with a dob of solder (just a pin head amount to fill *JUST* the hole), it will raise it enough, that all you need to do is *CAREFULLY* align the end of your a15 wire under the solderless connector (***making sure NOT to short anything out***) and tighten down the solderless connector...you dont need it hardwired in anyhow, as your going to remove the chip anyhow

ummm...re-read the guide

not Xecuter into bank 3, but exvo_TSOP_flash into bank 3

Hmm, I think the evox_tsop_flash file is corrupt. I'm using the newest evox, and I've heard it has ftp issues. Seems likely, as I can't even copy over a file now. I'll have to go back to v 1.8.3752 or something with ftp that worked. (Earlier, I didn't realize that evox_tsop_flash was a special bios, but I'm good now, hehe)

If so which bios is required on the chameleon?

Okay, I went back to evox 3752 and FTP is working again. I re-got and re-uploaded the evox_tsop_flash bios. Flashed Bank 3 while booted from Bank 0, and turned off the xbox. When I use the DIP switches to switch to Bank 3, the xbox still just flashes green, yellow, red. That BIOS simply won't boot this xbox. It's not a new xbox, either... kernel 4034, If I remember correctly. Any ideas?

I've tried flashing it twice, using "different" sources for the matrix_tsop_flash BIOS, and it flashed successfully both times. I don't think the flash is bad. Wehn I flash bank 3 with an executer BIOS, it boots fine. I think that bios is crap, lol
