If you want to use your own media in Xbox Music Maker, you need to download this tool for your PC:
http://www.xbox.com/en-US/musicmixer/pctool-overview

To get new music for Xbox Music Mixer, visit the official site:
http://www.xboxkaraoke.com/

Songs are 2 dollars each, with minimum orders at 5 dollars. There are a lot of songs to choose from to buy.

When you add music to Xbox Music Mixer from your PC, you can not listen to it as a regular soundtrack in the MS dash. More info about this, and other things too, here:

I just bought 3 songs from www.xboxkaraoke.com biggrin.gif

Yeah, it was 6 dollars, but I think this "game" is pretty cool so far.

Does it matter what key you give xboxkaraoke.com?

I just made one up to try to get the free song (Which I could'nt get) to test it out.

I used the key from the game. Since a made-up key didn't work for you, I would assume MS checks the key.

However, I had someone use the same key I used after I made my account, and it worked fine for them too.

So, official keys can be re-used.

Also, the songs are in a KRK extension. I tried to load it through Windows Media Player, but it did not work.

Keep in mind that regular CDg files CAN work in this thing with some tweaking. The MP3 needs to be changed to a WMA, and the words can get scrambled.

Is is something that we will have to create an app to do automatically.

The selection on XboxKaraoke.com is nice, but $2 per song is a little excessive. Especially when I already own SEVERAL CDg karaoke disks.

Why does M$ have to be such a big meanie and not let me use them?

So I uploaded my cdg+wma file to the savegame directory and it works fine.
But the name is "trackxx" and not the song name. To solve that, it's easy !
On Windows, just click on properties of the wma file and there you can put a title! And then upload it to the xbox and now name in Music Mixer is correct!

Get the Mega X Key.

Uses the USB port to put information on the unit, and then transfer it to the Xbox from your PC.

Before you guys convert MPS to WMA you must change the ID tags of the MP3 File.. You can download a Trial of OSS Audio Converter at zdnet.com

My Opinion: Sound Choice seem to be the best CD+G files for me.
