I'm booting directly into XBMC as my default dash at the moment.
I used XBTool to make F:/apps/xbmc/default.xbe the default dashboard. I have the other bank of my X2 Lite pointing at C:/evoxdash.xbe in case of any cock-ups on my part, I can just flip the switch and reboot to Evo-X.
Using 2004-01-02 build, 4979.06 Bios on the Evox bank and 4977 on the XBMC one
Any reason I shouldn't be doing this? (With a full complement of backups, just in case)

Can anyone tell me how i set XBMC as the dashboard
Go get XSelect 0.6, its a dashboard program (www.x-b-o-x.com has/had it)
Put it on your xbox as your dash (i.e. save it as evoxdash.xbe or xboxdash.xbe, and rename your original, on your c drive)
Turn on the xbox once
Reboot to a cd of evox or something so you can ftp again.
On the xbox goto folder E:/UDATA/1010001
Open or make (if its not there) lastdash.txt, put the in text below- E:/apps/xbmc-2004-01-02/default.xbe or whatever the location of the media centre is
Thats it when you boot it will load xselect, wait 1 sec, then it loads media centre. you can use xselect for alot more but i keep it simple so it'll always load xbmc (and so my daft flat mates didnae muck my xbox up)
Cheers to all these people who are making these great programs to benfit the people, the opposite of the corporate companys that dont do it and try to stop it, ironic

Xbox Version: v1.4
I'm using XBMC as dash and it's just to wipe the c: drive and put all the XBMC files there (after backing up of course). The XboxMediaCenter.xml file should be in the root of the c: drive. The rest of the folders and files needed are created when booting up the first time
