QUOTE(pceptimus @ May 16 2006, 11:11 AM) well 3 times i have installed XBMC from fresh. Thats deleting all settings from TDATA and UDATA ideleted the whole folder then i deleted the Z directory then the XBMC folder and the evoxdash.xbe and xboxmediacenter.xml from my C directory then booted my X3 Config Live FTP'd a "NEW" install of the latest build of XBMC Copied the default.xbe and xboxmediacenter.xml to the c drive renamed default.xbe to evoxdash.xbe Already pointed the xboxmediacenter.xml to the directory as it sais for a dash install and guess what.....
MY RSS FEED DIDNT WORK!!!!!!!!!!!
just do one more thing... do this all over again (you should have it to a science by now) but instead of copying xboxmediacenter.xml and default.xbe (renamed of course) to C:\ , copy it all to E:\APPS\XBMC, and then put the shortcut.xbe (remember the RENAMEME file outside of the xbmc folder) on C:\, (renamed to avalaunch or whatever bootable of course). I know it sounds odd, but that's the only thing I did different this time around, figuring what the hell, once home tag is taken out of the xboxmediacenter.xml, I'll have to do this anyway, (or add it too advanced settings which is more work really). Then tell us if that fixed it. This post has been edited by babanoosh: May 16 2006, 10:01 PM

Will try this in a moment maybe it will work. QUOTE(Jezz_X @ May 16 2006, 10:29 PM) When you say "MY RSS FEED DIDNT WORK!!!!!!!!!!!" do you mean one that dosn't come as default because rss feed settings got moved out of xboxmediacenter.xml and into \userdata\RssFeeds.xml which was said in the changelog
i know it has moved i read the changelog and the xbox-scene rss is in there i assumed xbmc had already been told it has moved so i assumed i could install xbmc as a dash as normal and it would work.

This worked so the question is why when i istall the dash using the other method did it not work? rom now on i will just use the shortcut instead of the other dash install method.

QUOTE(DCFluX @ May 15 2006, 08:08 PM) Thanks, I will give that a try, but I should mention that I have a 128MB 733MHz V1.1 Box. Memory free never seems to go below 64MB, Usually stays around 75 to 80MB free.
Yup. So do I, and it doesn't matter. For some reason XBMC recognizes the full 128MB, but it doesn't seem to use it properly in the video player. I can easily make videos not play at all by raising the cache to 10MB. Even though memory shows free space, it appears that the cache is being allocated in the lower 64MB, not the upper in the 128MB box cases, and when running 720p or 1080i, the video frame buffer requirements seem to need to be in the lower 64MB...so you are effectively hamstrung. Just my observations and random speculation... -Jhondra

Has anyone noticed that the master lock is not locking "My Files" although I set it to lock both Settings and My Files?
