Xbox slim Liteon drive version 1071 unlock.

1. I was able to extract the key.
2. I did the kamikaze unlock and sometimes I get 0x3c and sometimes 0x00 but unable to read the firmware.
3. I hope firmware for rev 1071 come out soon.

Anyone has any updates or news for the Slim Liteon drive rev version 1071? Thanks.

Well you can help development of the new fw.

QUOTE

c4eva is currently looking for additional unmodified full dumps of the 1071 and 0401 fw drives now that unlocks are available. If you can provide a dump of either of these fws, please contact an op in the official #c4e channel on EFnet IRC, and/or email the file(s) to ofw4tj@gmail.com.

True, after keep trying to drill down, now I get 0xFF. Now, it won't detect the drive from JF.

Well not necessarily. Some of the unlock methods say that once JF reads 0x3c..stop drilling/soldiering/etc..and close JF...then reopen and reintro the drive...JF should give you 0x00 status so you can pull the key.

But if the drive is no longer detectable...yup...drive is toast.

its when you see 0x3 is when you stop drilling. 0x3c just means you went too much

I didn't know there was a different between 0x3 and 0x3c...

Good to know.

Yeah, those drives I was able to unlock and read the full dump too but I can't seem to get this drive 1071 to read the full dump. I hope someone will successfully read the full dump for this 1071 drive and give it to c4eva so he can do his magic for us.

If someone has successfully read the full dumps for slim Liteon 1071 drive, please send the full dumps to c4eva.

I have done 2 1071 drives so far, the process is exactly the same.

I'm impressed! You risked those 2 slim PCBs knowing that if you messed up the kamikaze there was no way to flash equivalent 1071 fw to another board to recover the console.
Very brave!

Haha, customers wanted their boards unlocked anyway so it would be one less step when new fw came out. It's really not that difficult once you remove epoxy and mark points.

What I'm more shocked are the images I see of people who drill/dremel/etc without removing epoxy or marking the chip. I have done quite a few now and can say that the print does indeed vary from each chip.
