Hello

I am trying to flash a super aladdin live chip, in a v1.6 xbox to support large drive.

I have just installed 500gb western digital, I have locked drive successfully.

I formatted F: and G: with slayers v2.6, but I only see <137gb F: and empty G: (0gb)

So I assume the bios is NOT LBA48. I ran XBpartitioner v1.0 but it said no lba48 info found.

This is fine, but every website I read about Super Aladdin Live says 256k and uses factory bios = M8 PLUS v1.6 bios (with LBA48/IGR). So I am very confused, my mod chip has some other kind of bios not LBA48 sad.gif

I have made a new custom bios - 256k M8 Plus v1.6 67 IGR using EVtool_1.0.9

But now I am stuck with no way to load the bios. I tried to flash with Evox, but error says:

Flash BIOS
Manufacturers ID 09 Device ID 00
!! Unknown Flash Type !!

Please help !

Can anybody tell me codes for EvoX to flash Super Aladdin Live, is this even possible, and is 256k correct bin size ? I see you can add custom flash chip to evox.ini but I do not know which or if this chip is supported.

Thank you

this means the rom is not writeable, the flash may be manually protected or the aladdin may have a flash mode that needs to be enabled

lordvader129 - I already know the mod chip is a Super Aladdin Live.

I want to flash it with Evox, is my problem.

I can hold the start button in for 2 sec which apparently puts the Aladdin into "write flash mode", but I still require some kind of code to put in evox.ini to identify this mod chip or EvoX cannot flash the flashrom...

For example:

Flash= 0x012345,"AMD - Am29F080B",0x100000
Flash= 0x123456,"FUJITSU - MBM29F080A",0x100000
Flash= 0x345678,"Hynix - HY29F080",0x100000
Flash= 0x456789,"ST - M29F080A",0x100000

There will be some kind of code I believe, that relates to Super Aladdin Live... I can enter into config file. (I have edited the offsets above)

Nevermind, I have found the answer thanks smile.gif

Hold power for 5 sec.

Add to evox.ini to flash the 49LF020A:

Flash = 0xbf61,"SST - 49LF020",0x40000
Flash = 0xbf52,"SST - 49LF020A",0x40000
Flash = 0xdab0,"SST - 49LF020A",0x40000

XBpartitioner now detects LBA48 v3 and I can see 500gb smile.gif

I have the same setup as Digizor (a HD larger than 137 GB and Super Aladdin Live chip) but I NEED more explanation please.

When I hold the power button for 5 sec for flash mode, the LED light blinks half orange but that's it. No DVD tray ejecting or anything. I've only been able to boot Evox dash directly from the DVD-ROM. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Sorry I'm a NOOB!
