Compare Xbox360 DVD Trays: Toshiba-Samsung, Hitachi-LG and Benq
Posted by XanTium | February 13 16:06 EST

Here's a new picture comparing the trays of all the DVD drives found in the retail Xbox360 including a shot of the new BenQ(-LiteOn-Philips) VAD6038 drive. I did not include a shot of the Philips VAD6037 drive as that one is only found in dev units and not in retail.

It would of been nicer if the photo was taken with a lighter background, you can't really make out the details of each one.

It is pretty obvious which is which - what detail do you need that is more than that?

Its not that bad, you just look for the holes, it's easy to spot which drive is which.

Turn your brightness up on the monitor!!

I believe the new Xbox's will all be using this Benq drive, or a version of it. They stopped making the other drives.

So it depends on the stock in your local B&M store if it is new or old.
