Hey guys

Which system do you guys think has the most value for its money in terms of gaming? The 360 or PC? I dont want to spend $1000 on a new computer and find out 6 months down the track that i have to upgrade to play the latest games. But on the other hand the 360 seems to be a very powerful machine although i would use it mainly for online play and i did some research before posting this that all the servers seem to be in Europe and America(Im from Australia), Are there many Aussies playing on live? If so how is the lag? How does somone with over 200+ping manage to enjoy a good game of Halo or is that somthing that doesn't exist? I only hear good things from Euro's or American's? Is this cause of the low ping or is lag not a very big issue in Live?

Thanks in advance uhh.gif

I've always prefered consoles for gaming. You don't have to upgrade, there's not the risk of viruses, spyware, etc which could cause gaming 'downtime'. You know when there's a game you want for it, you'll be able to play it no trouble. I could just go on and on. Which is why, in my opinion, the X360 is much better than a PC by far.

^ that and the 360 seems to be more powerful than a lot of pc's. the x800 ain't got nothing on the 360's GPU and three processors, who needs more than that.

Hows the aussie live scene u say?

The first time i payed Halo 2 online was a few months ago, i though i give the 2 month free trial a go. well after the 2 months i bought a 12 months subby. After playing for about 2 hours i made myself a friend on live. He also was from australia, and said to me i was the first Aussie he chatted and played with since he got it ( which was a while ago ) Now for the ping issue i dont really get to check it like on a pc game. BUT u got to love live , sure its not a shinie as a pc game is, and as fast in the frames department... but the Online experince as a whole goes, its alot more enjoyable. Trust me u got to try it befor u just say no. No dick knobs sayin your a hacker... or getting kicked for no apparent reasons. i have a P4 2.8 gig with a 256mb video card. its blistering fast.. and isnt too bad. but i have devaloped sholder and back problems over the past few months, and sitting at a desk with incurrect posture isnt doing anyone favours. Id much rather chillin on the couch with a big screen telly and been able to chat with friends no matter what online game your playing.

Ive said it befor and ill say it again. soon as the Xbox360 is out. im selling this PC.
and think of the costs , a new system upgrade ... say every 8 - 12 months... for what? ?? ? ? ? been able to play the newist game on the store shelfs ? or buying a peice of hard ware that is less more likly to shit itself everytime u try to use it, not to mension the best gaming experince can be had with a deck of cards and some friends. u dont need the biggist boat in the ocean to catch the biggist fish.

I dont think anyone can tell you as it is an opinion. I would rather play PC games, but I love consoles. PC's are more for the person that wants the latest and greatest. I would say don't get a PC for gaming unless you are the type that will buy new hardware all the time. People that buy $3000+ systems regret it in the end. People that build their own don't as they will keep up on the upgrades. Pretty much unless you are good at buying, installing and configuring PC hardware, get a console and not a PC for games.

Aye, your a quaker? I was too. I used to play Quake 3 Fortress, same people that made Enemy territory. The scene died a couple of years ago but was back up again when the ETF was released but that went down the same way q3f did. wink.gif blink.gif

It would cost a LOT more than 1000 dollars to equal the xbox 360 in performance on a PC.
