I modded my 1.3 xbox a while back with an Xecuter 2.6, and now my friends want to do theirs, but they have 1.6's. I'm assuming they can use the same chip, but they probably need a different bios. What I need to know is: how to tell if they 1.6 or 1.6b's, what bios to use once I know, and if you can flash the appropriate bios with a disc (the same as I did on my box) or if you need an older box, or whatever.
Thanks a lot for your time |

The 1.6 and 1.6b is exactly the same - only difference is the ram that's used. "1.6b"s use non-samsung ram.
For 1.6 boxes use Evox M8+ 16 If you need to edit anything use the app "Evtool" its the xbtool equivalent for the M8 bioses Depending on the version of flashbios that comes on the X2.6 chips - you should be able to reflash them in the 1.6 machines without any problems. They should also have support for flashing over the network - a nice addition After you have the right bios on there - setup shouldn't be any different |

NOT forgetting that the 1.6 xbox needs a complete LPC rebuild so unless you can solder you may have trouble... It will be harder than modding the earlier xboes...

I know about the LPC rebuild, and am not worrying about that. But I still need to know which bios to use for each version, and how to flash the appropriate bios. Do I just burn it to a disc?

IF X3 chip X3 bios.....
Anything else M8 Plus 16 Depending on chip? depends how can flash... Generally from disc, from hard drive from pc-usb etc... depends on the chips exact features....Which will tell you in the manual you get which chip !!! |

Apparently you didn't read my first post, because you only told me which bios to use on 1.6's, not 1.6b's. You also didn't tell me how to tell the difference. I didn't act like a jerk when you didn't answer my questions, so I don't know why you're being one because I needed more information.
