I've soldered the correct points for flashing the TSOP on this 1.3, used a multimeter to check the vias either side of the bridges and it's fine (based on this: http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=266342). But when I start MechEurasia it won't flash through Evox (apparently it's not writable), and when I try to flash with Eurasia I just get the Linux logo on top of the Evox background, and the LED changes to orange.

I've checked/redone the solder bridges about 6 times now, tried different exploit packages, nothing seems to want to flash this TSOP.

if its a 1.3 there is a 99.99% chance its a winbond, which evox is incapable of flashing

as for eurasia, sounds like you might have a corrupt file, try getting a new copy of mecheurasia and try again

It's a Hynix sad.gif and the mecheurasia was freshly downloaded so I doubt it's corrupt. Evox says manufacturer ID is 0x09, and device ID is 0x00.

unless evox flashes another code for a split second before showing 0x0900 the soldering isnt good, i dont know why but multimeters tend to be unreliable, and will give false positives

if evox does flash another code youll have to add that code to evox.ini for it to be able to flash

Ah I think you're right, it flashes up 0xADB0 (0xAD is the manu. ID for Hynix afaik). But I'm not sure what to do now, I've redone the soldering so many times (testing with trying to flash rather than just the multimeter) and every time I've had the multimeter saying between 0.1 and 0.5 ohms resistance, and it hasn't worked. I'm not sure how else to test when I've got it right.

Sorry I misread your post. So it's a new flash that's not in the Evox ini, 0xADB0 (Hynix HY29F002TT-90).
Evox config line:
CODE
Flash = 0xadb0,"Hynix - HY29F002",0x40000

I've now flashed it biggrin.gif Thanks for your help lordvader!
