And here's what I came up with...

Basically ,it's a modified headset from a mobile phone......, just with no speaker. Oh ,and by the way ... there is no speaker so I have to use the "sound trough speakers" mode in the settings for the headset...


Here it is with the puffy grey cover over it...(from the 360's original headset)...

The next one I'm gonna do will have a mute switch...(which should be a very easy feature to add on)...

Wow that mod is fairly simple yet is a great add-on. I saw something similar to this yesterday on these forums but I like yours a little better. Out of curiousity have u used it a lot yet since modding it and how well do players say they can hear you? Keep up the cool mods.

Personaly ,I don't have xbox live ,but I hope to be getting it soon). But I've used it with my mobile phone ,and it worked fine-ish. It is a tiny bit quite at times...

Someone else did a similar mod and said that sometimes they could be heard sometimes not god.. I have extra 48 live cards if you want to test or you can just chat someone.. thats if you have broadband

i might do that if it works well.. i hate wearing that damn headset. I always had that logitech wireless headset for xbox... so basically i despise wires.

Yeah this mod in combination with a wireless controller must be just awesome. I always hate wearing headsets because either the cord isn't long enough or it lays on your arm which is just annoying.

i just mainly play live, this is sweet bc u dont have wires, but at the same time its hard to hear whoevers talking when ur playing a game...or some games.

It's 2.5mm.(dunno in inches).

Yeah I have broadband ,just not in my room ...And the wireless thing for the 360 is a ripoff! I'll get the cable into my room in about a month. Just out of curiocity ,how did you get so many live cards?

To everyone that's doing the mod before I put up the tut ,...Here's a word of advice..:USE A BIG MICROPHONE! I've just made a second one (for the pics for the tut) ,and I used a smaller mic than in the original mini headset ,And the one with the bigger mic works better (but not by much). So if you get the opportunity to use a bigger mic ,then DO!
