I have just noticed something.

Here, the front of the Xbox 360, just take a look at it: Front of Xbox 360

Then take a look at the back (of xbox 360): Back of the Xbox 360

Is it me or does it seems that the back of the xbox 360 is not concave? or is it the other one..... Dah... I can't remember....  huh.gif
*

It does concave, but not as much. Also I think the other one is convex.

It's simply a box with a slightly concave shell around it. It is still designed to be able to sit flat and have flat things sit on top of it. Think of it as an optical illusion. You are right in saying the back doesn't look concave because it isn't. The front gives the illusion that the whole thing is.

k1ll3r is right.

I KNOW i am going to put mine verticle so it vents alot better. more surface area for it to vent then on the side.

also looking at the power button it looks as it is was made to be vert. yeah i do know u can put it on its side too.

it wont fall over that easy either. i have a modem that is on its side and it has the feet on the bottom and it stands up fine.

I think it is just the faceplate that makes the front look concave unsure.gif

You see, the face is warped and curvy and sexy... look at rh clip points, they are just about straight and line up. The X360 is a box, with a curvy face.

Watch this video; about halfway(?) through one of the guys pops the panel off a 360 he's holding in his hand. You can see what it hides for like 1/4 of a second before it cuts to the next scene.

IMO, the next generation of game systems look like crap. I don't like how either of the 3 systems looks. There all too frilly and overdone.

I really really like how the Xbox and PS2 look. The Xbox more then the PS2. The controllers and casing just look cool and both are very very functional. I mean, I dunno, if MS's intention was to produce some eye candy to boost sales, I think they failed. I hate white...

if you dont like the color...paint it...simple as that

and it is concave both on the front and the back. on that picture, put your finger on the top corner and scroll down. you will notice that it is not a perfect line, although the front is more concave by a small margin

mine will go horizontal with led feet

How hard would it be to create a faceplate that simulates a boxy old Black or Silver entertainment unit? The top of the unit is pretty much flat, so by creating a faceplate that extends with material on the top and bottom and each side, it can simulate a normal boxy device. Also, the top of the XBOX was the slighest bit curved. Put any other device on there and it either cracks under the weight (for large amps) or the device on top will spin like a wheel on the tiny pivot.

Nope the vent is on the other side (the top) while the bottom has 4 clear rubber feet for laying it down horizontaly. The thing that pisses me off is when it's vert you load the disk from the right and I'm left handed, damn you M$, I bet things would be different if Bill gates was left handed! tongue.gif

Anyway, I like the way the 360 is. I already have a shelf for it. Yes, it has its own shelf!

someone should just put it in the original xbox case.
there would be enough room and extra for a full-sized hdd
if someone finds out if the current controllers will work, you could wire in the controller ports...i like my controller, it has lights everywhere and i dont want to loose it unsure.gif

hmm...i want a shelf too
