i havnt been here in quite some time but i really need alittle help. if i missed a previous thread or tutorial i apologize in advance.. i did a quick check and found nothing helpful.. so anyways..

i have been having problems with backing up some games on the hdd and it hasnt bother me too much till now.. toca 2, i would really like to have the quick loading of booting it off the hdd.. but cant figure out how to hexedit the .XBE (by accident i had a PAL patch which did little good smile.gif)
so this is what i tried doing:
i renamed the long filename 'PostProduction_ScalarDepthVelocityTransformShader.xvu' to 'ScalarDepthVelocityTransformShader.xvu' and then using a freeware hexeditor (XVI32) did a search for text string, finding the location of the toolong filename

and this is where i get lost:

do i delete the 'PostProduction_' text? or do i ZERO it out on the binary side?
i hope this makes sense cause i hardly know what im doing smile.gif

both attemps of above resulted in either a reset back to dash or dirty disk error sad.gif
