Xbox Version: v1.6
A friend of mine has a 1.2 or 1.3 Xbox modded and it will not read DVD+R backups. It will however read DVD+RW and CD-R media.

Is there a way to upgrade the firmware on the DVD drive or do we need to replace it with a better unit? What drive will work the best?
