I just recently bought a 360 off of ebay, it works perfectly... no overheating or anything, and i have the extended warranty.

I have owned it for about 2 weeks, so far no problems...

But last night i put in a brand new dvd, watched it, took it out.... the thing was scratched! It has light circular scratches around the disc.

I keep my system laid horizontally, i DONT MOVE IT, especially not while it's on. I don't leave games in the drive... sometimes i am in the middle of a game and i click on the open drawer button to exit the game and put it away and go to sleep... maybe that's it? Hmm

But yeah, i called MS and this woman read off a card or some shite and said there is NO WAY that the xbox 360 system can scratch games if it is not moved to a vertical position or vice versa while it is on, and that there is nothing they can do about my dvd movie because it is not a licensed MS product.

uhh excuse me?

Your MS licensed product scratched MY MOVIE.

This is ridiculous.

If i keep getting disc scratching problems i'm going to throw it off the second story balcony and send it in for warranty replacement.

Well, I am pretty sure that would definately not be covered by waranty. blink.gif I would see if you could send it in and have them see for them selves if it does scratch the disk. Then have them replace it. It is atleast better than throwing it off of a 2 story building.

The woman told me they dont do anything about the disc scratching because it is the fault of the user for moving the system while it's on... even though i explained to her that i HAVENT moved it.

I don't see why MS doesnt have a solution for this other than to have people sitting in customer service reading off of scripted cards to tell you its not their problem that their system is damaging your stuff.

So stupid. grr.gif

GRAW actually costs only $60 USD. When you baught it off ebay was it sealed in it's original box? It may have been tampered with or something.

I didn't by it of ebay. I got it in extra-game, sealed for €75, which I think is not fair, because the games in the US are so much cheaper.
PS. I'm so pissed off, because I'm only 14 (well...on Thursday) and I usually buy my own games, so buying a game for €75 and then having it ripped up by Ms's product didn't make me happy!!!

Maybe you could take a video of a brand new cd being put in the 360, then remove it to show it's scratched and send that in (maybe just make an audio cd on your computer so as not to waste a valuable cd).

Same issue here, All of my games have a ring around it. I keep it in a shelf system flat, and do not move as well. They all work but I have used the disk doctor on 2 of my 4 games to resurrect them. But here is something new.

My BF2 game would not run the other night, sounded like the laser was having a hard time reading it. It did not sound normal. So I took my brother's skip doctor to it because it has fixed it when the ring was bad enough so the drive wouldn't read it. Put it in and same thing. So I take it out.......I look close......THERE ARE 2 CRACKS ACROSS THE DISC!!!!! WTF!!!!

The only way I could see this happening was the DVD CASE. That's right...I did not studder. The BF2 case has a solid block in the center so you can not push the center piece to release the disc. So you are left to take it out by the outside of the disk. the cracks did not go far but started from the center.

So I have a bad disc, is there any way to get a replacement? I heard it is 20 bucks. That is better than spending a whole 60 over again.

As far as this ring scratch, MS HAS PISSED ME OFF TOO!! I NEED HD USE!!!

This has been discussed numerous times. Since you say the crack came from the center, it sounds like you took it out of the case wrong. My Table Tennis game has the exact same case, so I know it can be frustrating.

Look HERE

You have to put your thumb flat on the nub, tilt the disc towards you, and pull up on the outer edge slowly. After about 5 times it will slide right off.

If you didn't move the console (if you say you didn't I have no reason to think that you did), and it's still scratching the disc, have MS replace it as it is defective.
