I have had trouble finding the answer to this, as websites and what people are saying seem to be full of conflict. So here it is, please don't be mad if I have made a faux pas (i am, after all a noob)
I want to mod my xbox so that i can use EvoX, Media Player. I want to be able to make backups of my games, and i want to be able to keep and view mpg videos and mp3 music on my hd (i am planning on putting a 100 to 120 GB drive in. reccomendations on a cheap drive that works well, i don't care about the xbox live compatality).
Now the question is this, I am planning on getting an X2lite chip and the pogo pin adaptor thingy so i don't have to solder, as i got shakey hands from years of ritilan
. Now the X2lite comes with the cromwell bios already flashed on it, right? What can and can't I do with that bios. Will I need a new bios to do all the things I want to do (specifically the game backup, I am most unsure on that issue)? If so, what bios, and how the heck do i get the bios on the chip? Any other recommendations?
I am relatively good with computers (I have a weird basic computer minor, simple networking and repair stuff, not too rigorous), but I admit that I am completely new to the world of modding in general, much less Xbox modding. Thanks in advance to those that help, I look forward to learning more.
