Hi Guys,

So finally getting around to making the pmt hack.

What I want to know (was never replied to in another thread I posted in) is can I modify the v1 probe for the 74 series liteon. Given that the PMT can be used on ALL liteons, this piece of equipment feels redundant. So figured make a nice looking PMT hack using the v1 probe. Can it be done easily? and can someone show me how they did it?

OR I just make a new one up and keep the probe as is.

Cheers,
BB

You don't even need a probe to do it.

I made mine out of a XBOX 360 power cable, a switch from radio shack, some extra wire, and a needle from a safety pin.

First look at image above and compare to your DVD cable connector. Notice the notches on top of the connector?
Find #5 and #6 wire for the connector

Cut the wire for #6 in the middle and put in a switch. I suggest soldering the wire to the posts on the switch so they dont come lose. You could also just cover in hot glue.

That's the one I used

Then find the wire for #5.

We don't want to cut this one, just use a pair of wire strippers and strip it in the middle to expose the copper cable. Then take your extra wire cut about 8-10 inches long and strip both ends. Wrap one end that you stripped around wire #5 and I suggest soldering here so it has a better connection and wont come loose or cover in hot glue. Then at the other end of that wire that you attached, wrap some of the wire around your needle and solder it or hot glue and tape it.

Cover anything you have exposed wire with hot glue. Then wrap everything with electrical tape I also covered some of the exposed part of the needle with heat shrink tubing. Then you just touch the point MPX01.

In jungle flasher 1.79
Click Phatkey
Click yes,
turn off switch, touch MPX01, turn switch back on
Jungle flasher will tell you turn off drive for 5 seconds, do so, then click ok on screen after you return power to the drive.

So I'm trying to make a switch with the xbox 360 dvd cord to power off the drive. I have cut the #6 wire and connected both ends to a switch. For some reason, when the switch is in the off position, the dvd tray will still open. I have tried disconnecting both ends from the switch and leaving them disconnected but the dvd tray will still open.
I have checked to make sure I'm using the #6 cord and I am; I'm just unsure of why the dvd drive still has power when the #6 cord isn't even connected.
